El rêve, my life force,
my light, my fire, my water, my earth.
In my birth name – Veerle – there lies a message: ‘relever pour révéler le rêve’. Freely translated: ‘Rise to reveal the dream’. I’m naming my first exhibition – ‘El rêve’.
El rêve – is an energy that invites me to leave the known world and create space for something new. It asks me to connect with the void, the blank canvas, the raw clay, the unprocessed wood, the stranded shell. The story resides within the medium.
The energy allows me to discover different worlds, emotions, stories through its creations. I encounter ancestors, goddesses, witches, and shamans. Emotions take on a face, feelings an expression, lives a destination, energy a movement, passion a color.
It ignites my creative power. It lets me experience light and dark, calm and unrest, heaven and earth.
